SummaryI have been a nurse since 1996. I worked in a small float pool for about 3 years that covered Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Mother/Baby unit and Pediatrics. When that was disband, I went to work in Pediatrics at Providence for the next 12 years. I have worked with all types of families and children over the years, and even did a little time in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. I went back to school at University of Phoenix and obtained my Masters in Science Nursing in 2005. That same year I started teaching for the University of Alaska Anchorage in the BSN program, while still working in pediatrics and had small children at home. Over time I moved into a full time teaching position at UAA. I still take students to pediatrics at Providence once a trimester so I still get to do my first love, working with the kids.
