SummaryIn the fall of 2014 I joined a group called DECA. DECA is a professional organization that helps prepare students to become future business leaders. They focus on Hospitality, finance, marketing, management and technology. What I really enjoy about DECA is their community service projects. Since joining DECA I have participated in many volunteer events such as Miss Asian Las Vegas, the UCC Annual Awards Gala, and Nevada DECA SCDC. For Miss Asian Las Vegas, I worked backstage, set up equipment, and helped guide contestants to the stage. At the UCC Annual Gala, I supervised the auction area and made sure all bids were entered on time. I also got the opportunity to meet and network with guest afterwards. At Nevada DECA SCDC I help set up and organize test for the event. It was a great experience seeing how a high profile event was ran. This spring semester I plan to get more involved by joining a committee and continue to do more volunteer work with DECA.
